Abortifacients

"Ovulation is not always suppressed by oral contraceptives. In these cases, the egg is fertilized, conception takes place, and a new human being begins to develop. These abortifacients interfere with the pregnancy by changing the lining of the uterus so that a newly conceived child cannot implant in the womb. This hostile environment causes the child to die."

Janet Morana, Associate Director of Priests for Life and co-founder of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, shares her personal story. Please click here for more information.

Braving Our New World

"When Brave New World first appeared in 1932, the book's nightmare vision of the future was taken for science fiction. Today the nightmare had become real life. Earlier this year, for instance, headlines announced that fertility clinics in the United States now contain 400,000 frozen human embryos." Please click here for more information.

Bishop Weigand's Homily

On January 22, 2003 Bishop William K. Weigand, Diocese of Sacramento, California, held the Annual Pro-Life Mass at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. In his homily he addressed the conflict and hypocrisy of self-proclaimed Catholic politicians who actively support abortion in their official and non-official lives and he provided an advisory on how this behavior provides scandal to others, Catholics and non-Catholics alike. Cultural Imperialism

"People and families are every nation's most valuable resource. Europe and Japan are already concerned about having too few young people to care for the elderly population in the near future. There is real danger of an infrastructure collapse. The sustainability of the United States population is currently dependent on our immigrants. Americans concerned about human rights and human dignity must forcefully challenge those who seek to eliminate poverty by eliminating the poor."

Failure to Vote Pro-Life

"As Catholics our responsibility is to restore justice to unborn children, and to build the Culture of Life. In that effort we cannot criticize public officials who refuse to vote pro-life if we fail to do so ourselves." Click here to read more.

Life Lessons

"It's startling to realize a second generation is growing up under Roe v. Wade. That's why now, more than ever, it's so important to help young people establish a solid pro-life foundation to support a strong pro-life attitude." Click here to read more.

Made in His Image

"Because God created human beings in His own image, each of us has a unique dignity. 'Of all visible creatures only man is able to know and love his creator... and he alone is called to share by knowledge and love, in God's own life. It was for this end that he was created, and this is the fundamental reason for his dignity.' (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 356)." Click here to read more.

Separation of Church and State

"People should always have freedom of belief. The truth that the Church proclaims has its own power to attract people to embrace it. Belief is not something to be imposed by law. Yet law must limit what the believer can do. What should we say about someone who kills you because he "doesn't believe" your life is valuable? It is not his belief that violated the law, but rather his action against you. Wouldn't public officials have to take a stand against that action, even while upholding the criminal's freedom of belief?" Click here to read more.

Sinful Voting

"A voter believes in 'abortion rights,' and for that reason knowingly and deliberately votes for a candidate who has promised to protect those 'rights'. That is a sin. The voter has intentionally helped someone who is attempting to advance a violent and destructive activity. The vote in that case is similar to the sinful act of taking part in a pro-abortion rally, writing an editorial letter that expresses support for abortion, or otherwise encouraging or enabling those who perform abortions." Suspect and Illusory

"The Founding Fathers knew the difference between Divine law and human law, and wrote about it clearly. Alexander Hamilton, a signer of the Constitution, wrote, '[T]he law…dictated by God Himself is, of course, superior in obligation to any other. It is binding over all the globe, in all countries, and at all times. No human laws are of any validity if contrary to this' (The Papers of Alexander Hamilton, Vol. I, p. 87)."
